We already have a full album by Bob Marley and the Wailers in our fairly recent DLC memory, but Harmonix has decided to celebrate Marley’s February 6th birthday with an 8 pack to add to our libraries. The pack might not be chocked full of the hits that the previous album contained, but it should certainly be enough to satisfy the hardcore Marley fans that like to jam out to an occasional Rock Band 3 session.
A huge plus that this pack has over the previous DLC, however, is that this group of songs will be the benefactor of the inherent advantages that Rock Band 3 DLC has over that of previous games. The tracks will contain harmonies, keys, and one song, “Them Belly Full (But We Hungry),” even has the option to upgrade to Pro-Guitar and Pro-Bass for a dollar extra.
This pack likely won’t appeal to the core Rock Band audience, but we personally have no issue with the platform branching out to bring in more demographics, especially given the recently abysmal sales numbers for the music game genre. There’s also the fact that the game put out over 90 songs last week alone through the combination of Rock Band Network, Rock Band: Country Track Pack 2, and London Calling album DLC, which should be more than enough to distract the hardcore Rock Band-ers.
Whether you’re a Marley fan or not, check out the song list below and decide for yourself whether or not these are worth your $13.50 when they hit virtual shelves on Tuesday.
